An Intellectual Disability or Developmental Disability (ID/DD) is a neurological condition which significantly impacts activities of daily living and development.

ID/DD  is considered to be a lifelong condition and results in significant impairment in at least two areas of daily living such as:

  • self-care
  • communication
  • cognitive
  • mobility
  • self-direction
  • capacity for independent living and economic self sufficiency

 

ID/DD may include an Intelligence Quotient Scale (IQ) of below 70 but is not limited to this in the larger definition of Developmental Disabilities.
